Apple Music support added to rekordbox and all-in-one DJ systems OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ

DJ with Apple Music, access over 100 million tracks, and explore thousands of DJ mixes for inspiration.

AlphaTheta Corporation has made another step toward offering DJs complete creative freedom by adding support for Apple Music to its rekordbox DJ software and selected hardware systems. This update enables you to play seamlessly using Apple Music’s massive library of over 100 million tracks, and its expertly curated playlists, when you play with rekordbox and supported DJ gear.

With the OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ all-in-one DJ systems, you can now connect directly to Apple Music via the internet and get instant access to the latest club tracks, chart hits, and nostalgic classics, plus your favorite playlists from your Apple Music account. This integration enables you explore new creative possibilities in your DJ sets.

To unlock these features, updates were released for rekordbox for Mac/Windows (ver. 7.1.0), rekordbox for iOS (ver. 4.4.0), OMNIS-DUO firmware (ver. 1.21), and XDJ-AZ firmware (ver. 1.21) on March 25, 2025.

Also through this collaboration with Apple Music, AlphaTheta will launch the AlphaTheta DJ Mix Curator Page on the streaming platform. This page will host playlists specially curated by professional DJs chosen by AlphaTheta. And, to provide new inspiration for DJ sets, the page will also feature DJ mixes along with unmixed playlists of all the featured tracks so you can create your own version of each mix at home.

The latest update to rekordbox for Mac/Windows ver. 7 introduces new browsing features tailored for streaming services. You can quickly find tracks in Apple Music’s vast library with the help of artist images and album artwork as a visual reference. New tools that help enhance your DJ experience include Streaming Radar, which recommends tracks, and Collaboration Playlist, which lets you share playlists with friends. And you can now seamlessly play songs from Apple Music on compatible AlphaTheta DJ hardware.

Directly access Apple Music from the OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ

Thanks to the StreamingDirectPlay feature, you can now directly access Apple Music from the OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ. So, you can load tracks and playlists straight from the streaming service, with automatic BPM and grid analysis. The on-screen waveforms for each track enable intuitive and precise beatmatching, helping you to craft smooth and dynamic DJ sets.

*StreamingDirectPlay on the OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ can be used without a rekordbox subscription.

Seamlessly manage your music library

With rekordbox Cloud Library Sync, your music library stays up to date across all devices via the cloud. For example, you can import Apple Music tracks into rekordbox for iOS on your iPhone, set Hot Cues while you’re on the go, and have the changes instantly synced with your home PC’s library, as well as your OMNIS-DUO or XDJ-AZ if you’re using rekordbox CloudDirectPlay. This ensures that the latest Apple Music tracks and your settings are seamlessly shared across multiple devices, enabling smooth preparation and DJ sets.

*You’ll need a subscription to the rekordbox Creative or Professional plan, or a Cloud Option plan, to use Cloud Library Sync. From March 4, 2025, new subscribers will not be able to sign up for the Creative plan individually due to a change in the payment system. We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding. Please consider subscribing to the Cloud Option plan or Professional plan.
